We see prayer as a necessary practice that roots us in God’s story and involves us in the unfolding work of God. When Jesus taught his followers to pray, he invited them into this simple but radical prayer:
Our Father who is in heaven, uphold the holiness of your name.
Bring in your kingdom so that your will is done on earth as it’s done in heaven.
Give us the bread we need for today.
Forgive us for the ways we have wronged you, just as we also forgive those who have wronged us.
And don’t lead us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. (Matthew 6)
At our Sunday Gatherings, we have a prayer station where we invite people to both share requests for prayer and commit to praying for one another.
We also have a group of women and men who faithfully pray for those in our Open Door family. If you’d like prayer for anything, please get in touch via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
