THE 2016 LENT PROJECT
Read more about Ash Wednesday and the Journey of Lent HERE on our blog.
In our world it is easy to find alternative sources of identity. But we are not defined by what we possess, what entertains us, what we wear, or what we consume.
Throughout our journey in Mark’s Story of Jesus, we’ve asked questions about what it means that, in Jesus, God became human. As we study the life of Jesus, we are invited to consider what it means to be truly human, what the essence of life as a child of God looks like.
EXCESS & ESSENCE
In this year’s Lent Project, we seek to decrease our reliance on the excess in our lives and increase our understanding of our own essence as a beloved child of God.
In all of this, we remember that the Way of Jesus is not simply about denial or saying no.
It’s about saying yes to life with God and this becoming world God is redeeming around us.
PRACTICE & PRAYER
Each week (Monday - Saturday), we’ll experiment together with a specific practice and each practice will be accompanied by a daily prayer, a recognition that life is found on the path of God's grace.
